Privacy Policy

Last updated: 08.08.2026

This page explains what data the Smakota site ("the site") collects, why, and how we protect it. By registering on or using the site, you agree to these terms.

What Data We Collect

  • When registering: name, email address, password (stored only in encrypted form — we cannot see or recover your original password), and, optionally, a phone number.
  • When adding a recipe: recipe text and a photo of the dish.
  • When commenting or rating: comment text, the rating given.
  • When contacting us via the "Contact" page: name, email, message text.
  • Technical details: a session cookie (to keep you signed in). If bot-check (Cloudflare Turnstile) is enabled on the site, during registration and recipe submission it processes technical data from your browser according to Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

Why we use this data

Solely for operating the site: signing in, saving your recipes and favorites, moderating content before publication, and responding to your messages. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing.

Cookies

The site uses only a technical session cookie needed to keep you signed in. The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Data storage and protection

Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, never in plain text. Only the site administrator has access to the database. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.

Public information

Please note: your name, published recipes, comments, and photos you add are publicly visible to all site visitors.

Your rights

  • You can edit or delete your recipe yourself at any time.
  • You can request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • You can request a copy of the data we store about you.

To do this, write to us via the page «Contacts».
